BIO OF DR. RICHARD SEELY
PRESIDENT
SEELY & ASSOCIATES, INC.
Dr. Richard Seely has been President of Seely & Associates, Inc. since 1991. He has over 20 years of international, economic development, tourism and fundraising experience.
- Assistant Secretary for Tourism Marketing at the U.S. Travel and Tourism Administration, U.S. Department of Commerce, Reagan Administration, from 1985 to 1988 where he managed the agency's 10 overseas offices and $10 million tourism marketing program.
- Seely served as Vice President of Dutko & Associates from 1988-1991.
- Dr. Seely was Coordinator of Plans and Programs at the World Tourism Organization headquartered in Madrid, Spain.
- Assisted Latin American, African and Asian nations to formulate tourism development plans, finance infrastructure projects, and implement both domestic and international tourism promotion programs.
- Professor and director of research at the Getulio Vargas Foundation located in Rio Janeiro, Brazil.
- Assisted EMBRATUR (the Brazilian national tourism agency) to develop strategic marketing plans for that nation.
- Has been a full time member of the faculties of Georgetown University and George Mason University. His teaching areas included marketing management, statistics, marketing research and strategic planning.
- Published more than 20 articles on various tourism subjects and co-authored, International Marketing.
- Received a Doctorate of International Business and Micro Economics from The George Washington University,
- Holds an MBA with a concentration in Operations Research and BS in Industrial Administration, both from the University of Connecticut.
